EditGrid rocks! We are a start up band in the San Francisco bay area. We are primarily focused on performing covers of rock songs. We needed a collaborative tool that would allow the musicians to suggest songs that the band could perform, and at the same time, vote on everyone’s suggestions.

Our old method of mailing out song links and our respective opinions just did not scale as the number of songs increased. During the early stages of our formation, we had eight band members, and almost a hundred song suggestions.

As it turned out, EditGrid was just what we needed to keep all the information in one place, and use it for our decision-making. The tool really helped us democratize the song selection process, and everyone seems happy.

We plan to continue using EditGrid to refine our repertoire as we move out of our garage and onto the stage!

The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

It works great! We use this product to set up staffing schedules between three states.

We use EditGrid to set up work sites in grid format, and have workers at multiple locations to access and update their names & related information; so to know who is working at where without making 800 phone calls.

Work sharing is our core reason to use EditGrid.

Novatech

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Novatech Production Services is a South Australian based production company offering audio, video and lighting solutions to the national touring concert and local event industry markets. The EditGrid product has helped us to improve our communication of complex stage patches from stage to front of house mix positions in high pressure, restricted access festival environments.

Having laptops at both the stage and front of house mix positions running the EditGrid application we are able to update information on up coming artist’s stage patches as soon as the information is received.

This process is quick, hassle free and ensures smooth changeovers between artists when the communication of this information is critical to the performance.

EditGrid has proven to be a very useful tool and we will continue to use it in the future.

I have been using EditGrid for about 4 months now. I submit lots of articles online about various investment topics and it’s nice that I can have an updating chart, even though my article was submitted months before.

The main use of the charts can be seen on my blog. I use it for many demonstrations, primarily for commitment of traders reports. An example of Japanese Yen COT’s can be seen here. Thanks EditGrid.

I am currently using EditGrid to plan my wedding. From everything to creating mailing labels to keeping track of RSVPs, gifts, budgets, song lists and more. This way all the different parties can check in to see progress and everyone is accountable for staying on budget!

I love being able to access the lists from work, home, my sister’s or mother-in-law’s houses. I tested a few other online spreadsheets before I settled on this one. Also the chat feature has been very helpful when discussing guest lists.

EditGrid provides a great solution for allowing me to provide and with the JSONP stylesheet capability allows me to easily update content for interactive web 2.0 maps available at http://www.swingingsammy.com/schools/page6/page6.html and timelines of Pennsylvania school data by using EditGrid in conjunction with code from the Simile Exhibit program http://simile.mit.edu/exhibit.

The people behind EditGrid are very responsive and work constantly to improve the EditGrid program.

I also use EditGrid for scheduling game and practices for a Little league with over 50 teams.

EditGrid has the ability to handle complex spreadsheets with an increasing ability to incorporate and make use of other web technologies, as well as basic spreadsheets for those who have more basic needs. The fact that with EditGrid, the spreadsheets and its data are on a secure online spreadsheet that can be shared and updated with ease, with the changes appearing immediately has greatly improved the use, functionality and sharing of data.

John Weight, Midas Investment Club

We are a UK based investment club investing mainly in shares on the London stock market. A number of members had different ways of keeping track of our shares - mainly by using ‘portfolio’ facilities offered on a number of financial web sites. This was not ideal as individual members had to keep their own portfolios up to date - whilst others didn’t have the technical ability to do this.

As we had our own web site we had for some time been looking for a way of posting share prices to the site and enabling any member to get the latest picture without themselves having to do anything other than log on. I had been trying various on line spreadsheets but none were satisfactory until I discovered the ‘external data’ function in Editgrid. This allows on line prices to be shown in a spreadsheet with only the usual 15 minutes delay and continually updated. And the spreadsheet can be posted live to our web site. You can see this at www.midasinvestmentclub.org.uk - go to the Portfolio page.

In recent days I also discovered a new function which will post Reuters stock price charts in the spreadsheet. There is a template available for these, but thanks to Editgrid’s helpful and speedy response to my questions I have now discovered how to generate these from scratch. The charts are also posted to the website. Members can now get an up to date valuation and watch the trends in the charts by simply going to our site. I believe Editgrid to be the most useful of all the on line spreadsheets - and I think I must have tried them all!

Christopher Weddell, a Kiva.org lender

Friday, March 7th, 2008

Kiva.org allows you to connect with and loan money to unique small businesses in the developing world, empowering people to lift themselves out of poverty.

This revolutionary process is simple, engaging and fun, from beginning to end. So much so that many lenders have built up quite a portfolio of loans, which have become difficult to manage.

Using Editgrid lenders can use their Kiva.org data export (Excel spreadsheet) to its fullest. Data is manipulated, massaged and converted to provide some basic stats.

Using My Data Format various files are created for use, including:

  • A KML file of all loans
  • An iCal file of all active loans to show repayment dates
  • A homepage integrated with Exhibit 2.0 AJAX ‘magic’ to provide an interactive map, loan listing, and timeline
  • A banner to highlight a particular loan of interest
  • 2 Greasemonkey (FF) / Trixie (IE) scripts to highlight entrepreneurs and to provide country counts and highlights back on kiva.org

A number of members of kivafriends.org have started to trickle over and use a copy of this spreadsheet - with excellent reviews.

Well done Editgrid team, without you our kiva.org experience would be so much less.

I was very much fascinated by MS Excel, right from my introduction to computers. I have developed several quality programs related to the stock trading in Excel but was always searching for the gateway to put it on the web and was never finding a way out.

One day accidentally i came across EditGrid, and it was last day i worked on Excel. I was feeling just like my dream has came true, i was highly intrigued by the EditGrid’s features. Further whenever i found some programming difficulties the competent EditGrid team has always helped me to find the way out.

Now my work is being used by thousand of my colleagues and thanks to the constant development of the EditGrid which will go on faciliating the problems i encounter. Really, EditGrid has changed the way the spreadsheets are used.

My best compliments to the team of EditGrid.
